2. Plan Your Trip

Whether you’re driving or flying, extra preparation is required if you’re bringing a pet.

If you’re driving, plan your route. Look for rest stops and places where your pet can take a bathroom break or a short walk. For multi-day drives, find pet-friendly lodging along the way.

You can also ask questions in online chatrooms or Facebook groups focused on your pet. Joining the online community of pet owners is a fantastic way to do research and learn about pet-friendly activities in your travel nursing destination.

5. Establish a Routine

Once you’ve explored, establish a daily routine with your pet. Stick to your favorite outdoor spots and routes for taking walks. This will help them become comfortable with their new home along with you.
