Happy Nurses Week: Reasons To Celebrate Nurses

May 08, 2019

When it comes to compassionate care, there are millions of reasons to celebrate nurses every day. Nurses Week allows us to say thank you for the hard work and dedication you put in every single shift. Gifted sees the value nurses add to any healthcare facility. Today, we want to talk about some of the reasons this week is so important.

Nurses are important at every stage of our life cycle. They help deliver new life into the world and celebrate with new parents. Nurses care for children struggling with illness and help keep students well in schools. Adolescents and adults find new perspectives on wellness and preventative medicine thanks to the wide range of experiences nurses offer. Older people and those in palliative care find comfort in the thoughtful and gracious work of nurses in hospitals, clinics, LTAC facilities, and beyond.

Nurses are everywhere we live, work, play, learn, and worship on top of being in every healthcare setting. In fact, about 1 in every 100 Americans is a registered nurse. Nurses alone comprise the largest group of healthcare professionals in the United States. While there are hundreds of nurse specialties, nurses all remain continually focused on providing top-quality care to their patients.

Beyond direct service at the bedside, nurses can become certified in many clinical skills and/or patient populations. Beyond that, they often hold a wide range of positions including direct care, executive leadership, research, academia, and policy. As an agency founded and run by nurses, Gifted Healthcare in particular acknowledges the nurses we serve and celebrate every day of the year.

According to the American Nurses Association, the American public has ranked nurses the professionals with the highest honesty and ethical  standards for 17 consecutive years. These results underscore the deep trust that the public has in nurses. Its a trust that has been earned through the high standards nurses hold themselves to when it comes to doing no harm and creating opportunities for growth and wellness. Gifted Healthcare  nurses embody this on every assignment as they enter new environments so that all patients can be cared for.

Thank you!

Today, we want to thank nurses for the ways they make the world better. We celebrate nurses’ commitment to addressing public health challenges and their transformative approaches to healthcare in addition to illness care. Nurses’s roles as a trusted advocate for individuals, families, groups, and communities to receive quality patient care and services.

Gifted Healthcare honors the work of nurses by sharing nurses’s stories of strength, resilience and determination while navigating an ever-changing and complex healthcare landscape. Our company understands the critical reasons to celebrate nurses every single day even when it's not Nurses Week.
