Nurses Week allows us to say thank you for the hard work and dedication you put in every single shift. Gifted sees the value nurses add to any healthcare facility. Today, we want to talk about some of the reasons this week is so important.
Nurses are important at every stage of our life cycle. They help deliver new life into the world and celebrate with new parents. Nurses care for children struggling with illness and help keep students well in schools. Adolescents and adults find new perspectives on wellness and preventative medicine thanks to the wide range of experiences nurses offer. Nurses alone comprise the largest group of healthcare professionals in the United States. While there are hundreds of nurse specialties, nurses all remain continually focused on providing top-quality care to their patients.
Beyond direct service at the bedside, nurses can become certified in many clinical skills and/or patient populations. Beyond that, they often hold a wide range of positions including direct care, executive leadership, research, academia, and policy.
