Ronald McDonald House of South Louisiana

December 11, 2021

Since 1983, Ronald McDonald House of South Louisiana has partnered with local children’s health care providers to keep families together and near the medical care their ill or injured children need. The generosity of donors and volunteers allows the house to focus on families’ needs as they face the medical uncertainty and financial stress of caring for their children. Through the programs, they help provide housing, meals, and psychosocial support to families with children at local hospitals.

Gifted Healthcare has been volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House since early 2019 as a part of the Meals from the Heart Program. Each month, employees head to the house to cook a homemade meal for the guests.

Although dinners were not permitted during COVID, Gifted donated comfort bags for the guests to take with them to the hospital while they were visiting loved ones. These bags included items such as blankets, masks, and other needs.

“While working at Gifted, I have had the pleasure of cooking for the families at the Ronald McDonald House of New Orleans. Meeting so many families and hearing their struggles filled my heart with joy to know that I was able to make sure they had one less thing to worry about. It’s also a great feeling to know that you are staffing the facilities with clinicians helping these beautiful children get better.”  Morganne Joseph, Gifted Recruiter

Gifted Healthcare is excited to continue volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House of South Louisiana, cooking meals for the families in need.
