Gifted Healthcare is excited to announce more great news for Travel Nurses. On July 1, 2019, Louisiana (LA) will become part of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). These Compact Licenses allows nurses to obtain a multistate license and practice in any state that is part of the compact.
How Will the Nurse Licensure Compact Change Nursing in Louisiana?
Louisiana participation in the NLC will affect Travel Nurses in two ways:
- Travel Nurses living outside of Louisiana that hold a multistate license do not require additional licenses to practice in KS.
- Nurses who live in KS, hold an active KS license, and meet the Louisiana State Board of Nursing's (LSBN) requirements are eligible to apply.
- Once a multi-state license is obtained, these nurses will be able to practice in all 31 NLC member states without obtaining additional licenses.
